- 2 oz rye
- 2 oz Cocchi Americano
- 1 oz Byrrh Grand Quinquinah
- flamed orange
Here’s another from Midnight Cowboy. I’m not entirely sure I’ve gotten the proportions right, but I think I’m getting close. The Byrrh gives this a medicinal bitterness that Dane absolutely loves.
I had some difficulty this time with the flamed orange. I think my orange was getting a little dried out. I did still manage a very small flame at least.
What rye were you using?
Whistle Pig, because it is literally the only rye in my house right now.
I’ve made this one before. It is a fantastic cocktail. It hits all the right notes. The biggest question is one of balance and proportion, but I think you picked correctly.
Made this one last night (any excuse to use the Byrrh is a good one) and quite enjoyed it! I made it with the Bullit, and I ended up hitting it with some cherry smoke which I think worked out quite nicely.
