Day 87: Pete’s Word

  • 1 oz Islay scotch
  • 1 oz green chartreuse
  • 1 oz maraschino liqueur
  • 1 oz lime juice

…Huh. This one I found while randomly flipping open the Death & Co book. Since the Last Word is probably my current favorite cocktail I knew immediately I wanted to try it. Unfortunately I think using an Islay overpowers just about everything else. Maybe if I had more of a taste for Islays my opinion would be different.

Day 76: Alaska Forest

  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 3/4 oz Eau de vie of Douglas Fir, Clear Creek
  • 1/2 oz green chartreuse

I’m not completely immune from cheesy holiday bullshit, so I decided to make a green drink for St. Patrick’s. This was dry, punchy, and fragrant. I used the Citadelle this time, so I might like to try a different gin next time. I made it specifically for Dane because it used one of the pine liqueurs that we have.

Day 71: Green Like a Fox

  • 3/4 oz blanco tequila
  • 3/4 oz pisco
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 green chartreuse
  • 1/2 oz agave syrup
  • 1/4 oz maraschino

Occasionally I like to try making something with a liquor I haven’t used in a while. This time I stuck my head into the cabinet and saw the bottle of Pisco.

This cocktail reminds me a lot of a Last Word, but the Pisco and tequila give it a slightly smoky flavor. Very easy drinking.
